Roberto D’Abate

Over the course of his career heading major divisions of financial institutions, Roberto D’Abate has acquired in-depth financial service experience. He has an unbroken record of success based on fostering competitiveness and boosting profitability/market share. He offers an optimal combination of strategic and innovative reflection while constantly focusing on clients’ needs. He has held numerous positions in which he supervised the work of dozens of employees. In addition to his broad-based expertise, Mr. D’Abate has demonstrated talent in various areas, including Six Sigma process improvements, boosting competitiveness/profitability, management transitions, business start-ups, risk/credit management, innovation, real estate appraisal and investment analysis, economic analysis and construction/real estate financing. From 2000 to 2005 Roberto managed credit and risk for GE Capital’s Eastern region, a portfolio valued at more than 7B$. From 2005 to 2010 he led Macquarie’s Eastern Division, growing the region to over 5B$ in assets. Roberto also managed National Bank’s mid-market Real Estate Division from 2010 to 2013, which accounted for the largest portfolio of commercial property at the bank and responsible for the management of construction financing across Canada. Since 2013, Roberto has focused on the commercial and construction market, including mortgage brokering and consulting on some major projects. He holds a master’s degree in management science from Simon Fraser University, a bachelor’s degree in economics from Concordia University and a bachelor’s degree in commerce from McGill University.
